Obtaining a Local Historic District Designation

HENF's Immediate Focus is to obtain a Local Historic District Designation for Elizabeth

Local Historic District designations are one of the few tools available to communities in North Carolina to preserve the historic integrity and fabric of their neighborhoods. In furtherance of HENF's mission to preserve historic Elizabeth, HENF is diligently working to establish Elizabeth as a LHD with a LHD designation from the Charlotte Historic District Commission.  To learn more about a LHD designation and HENF's work on this important project, click below.
